Cheshire Constabulary and Cheshire
West & Chester Trading Standards have recently taken part in a
joint operation called ‘Operation Rogue Trader’. The operation is a
national initiative and is aimed to reduce distraction burglaries,
bogus callers and rogue traders.
Cold callers arrive unannounced and may pose as builders,
gardeners or offer to carry out general repairs to your property in
attempt to persuade you to pay large amounts of money for
unnecessary work.
Both the Police and Trading Standards are trying to discourage
residents in buying goods or services at the door in attempts to
stop these types of incidents happening. Therefore if you, a
friend, a neighbour or a relative are approached by traders on the
doorstep then we would encourage you to politely say no and report
the matter the Trading Standards on 08454 040506.

West and Chester and helps to protect and support them. This
