What does the Research, Intelligence and Consultation
Team do?
We provide a comprehensive service to
inform Council decision making, by interpreting the views and
aspirations of local residents, visitors and employees, in order to
shape future services in a way that best meets their needs.
We use a wide range of methods to collect
social, economic and demographic information, including: surveys,
focus groups, bespoke events/projects and analysis of secondary
datasets such as the Census.
Many people and organisations make use of our information
to:
- Make sure that people get the services they need
- To check the right services are being provided to the right
people at the right time and in the right place
- To make a case for attracting investment to the local
area
We aim to ensure that policy development,
performance reporting and the services provided by the Council are
based on sound evidence and meet the needs and expectations of our
communities.
