Neighbourhoods

Neighbourhoods throughout Cheshire West and Chester will vary. There are a number of well defined partnerships already supported locally and existing infrastructure including Town and Parish Councils, neighbourhood management areas, and market town initiatives. Where these are effective they should be retained and there are examples of parish councils who already work together either on common issues, or sharing infrastructure costs e.g. parish clerks.

In some areas Education Improvement Partnership's may join to form an area, along with other partner arrangements e.g. neighbourhood policing and GP practices.

Action Plans
Neighbourhood Action Plans will be drawn up with residents and partners to identify priorities and solutions which will inform the plans drawn up by Area Programme Boards. This will also enable local communities to develop bespoke solutions for their individual priority areas e.g. local campaigns to improve recycling through innovative solutions.

Neighbourhood Action plans will be informed by profiles using local views and statistics about what it is like to live in that area. In some areas this will be well developed e.g. parish plans, neighbourhood delivery plans, market town development plans - in others more detailed work on both statistical analysis and local community engagement will need to be developed to build these neighbourhood profiles.

Local profiles are important to ensure that both the Authority and the LSP have a better understanding of the issues faced by local people and that improvements in the local quality of life can be measured.
