An invitation to question leading councillors

A chance to get your voices heard at the next Overview and Scrutiny Committee meeting

The Overview and Scrutiny Committee for the newly formed Cheshire West and Chester Council is inviting residents to make their voices heard at the Committee's second public meeting on 3 November at the Memorial Hall, Northwich.

Cllr Andrew Dawson, Chairman of the Scrutiny Committee, said: "I am determined to do what I can to make a success of Scrutiny in the new authority and to do what we can to make the Council responsive to its residents.

"What better way to start other than to give the people a chance to question some of the leading politicians who are shaping the public services for the area."

The Chairman of the Scrutiny Committee has invited Cllr Mike Jones, Leader of the Council, Cllr Les Ford, Deputy Leader and Finance and Performance portfolio holder, and Cllr Neil Ritchie, Environment portfolio holder, to discuss issues relating to their areas of responsibility with the Committee and residents.

People who attend the meeting on 3 November will be able to ask questions about issues and decisions that have already been taken by the Shadow Executive, for example, in relation to the waste collection service.

The Committee will invite all 10 Executive Members to attend meetings during the next six months.
