Switchover Timetable

The Switchover affects different regions of the UK at different times.

Although the Granada region is due to switchover in late 2009, currently there are no definite dates.

You do not need to wait for the switchover, you can convert your existing equipment now.

The Granda Region

• 2008 - Preparatory work on transmitters in the Granada region. This may cause a few breaks in service outside of peak viewing time
• Early-Middle 2009 - People eligible for the Switchover help scheme are contacted
• Early-Middle 2009 - Residents will be contacted with exact date for the switchover
• September - December 2009 - Switchover period starts initially with BBC2

Other local regions

If you receive broadcasts from other regions, this may continue to happen as all transmissions 'overspill' the region they are aimed at. However, in the new network, the pattern of overspill may change.
