Councillor Hugo Deynem to drive climate change policies forward

Cheshire West and Chester Council's champion on climate change has vowed to help make the new Council the leading local authority on the subject.

The Council's Executive recently appointed eight councillors to champion key areas of the authority's work, including dealing with the local causes and effects of climate change.

Climate Change Champion, Councillor Hugo Deynem said: "This is a cause that I am passionate about and I shall be considering climate change issues in relation to the Council's major decisions and policies.

"I will be aiming to assist Cheshire West and Chester Council in becoming the leading local authority addressing climate change, not only in its own actions, but through the support and empowerment of individuals and communities to combat the challenge themselves."
