Background information
The Council is responsible for enforcing
Health and Safety legislation in work premises within Cheshire West
and Chester. These premises include: offices, shops, warehouses and
leisure activity centres.
The Health and Safety Executive are
responsible for enforcing Health and Safety legislation in
factories, transport, agriculture and other large industries.
The service
The Council's aim is to ensure that all
relevant premises within the local authority are inspected in
accordance with an agreed risk rating in order to protect the
health, safety and welfare of persons at work and persons who may
be affected by that work.
