Cheshire West and Chester Homelessness Review 2009
Consultation
The Homelessness Act requires every local authority to carry out
a review of homelessness in the Borough every five years, to
develop and publish a homelessness strategy based on the review,
and consult with other local statutory and voluntary
organisations.
This review will provide a basis for a strategic approach to
prevent homelessness, and provide the services to support and
accommodate those in housing need.
The homelessness review is required to cover:
- An analysis of the past, current and future levels of
homelessness
- An audit of the services aimed at preventing, supporting, and
accommodating people who are or may become homeless
- A review of the resources available to spend on homelessness
within the borough
The
Homelessness Review (PDF 2479kb) will inform the
development of the Homelessness Strategy and it is therefore
essential to ensure that the information within the review is an
accurate picture of homelessness within the borough. The
consultation process is to give all partners, including those who
supply services and those who use them, the opportunity to discuss
and agree what the future priorities should be. Following
this review and consultation period Cheshire West and Chester will
produce and publish a Homelessness Strategy.
If you would like to comment on the Homelessness Review you may
wish to complete the questionnaire as part of your
response, however please feel free to comment on any aspect of the
review.
Please send any comments to Joanne Walters, Cheshire West and
