The key priorities of the Housing Solutions team are to
prevent homelessness wherever possible and offer a range of
prevention options for you to consider. The options available
should help you to either remain in your present accommodation or,
if this is not possible, to help you to move to alternative
accommodation in a planned way. By taking appropriate and prompt
action, your homelessness may be avoided altogether.
We can offer you:
- practical advice and assistance to help you to find
somewhere to live
- help with claiming housing benefit where
applicable.
- referrals to other organisations and services which
provide accommodation or support
We will ensure that all outcomes, decisions and advice given to
you by the Housing Solutions are followed up in writing to you.
In addition Housing Solutions can offer additional advice
and assistance through the following specialist advisors :
Employment Solutions Mentor –
who will support homeless households through training and into
employment, working closely with employers and training
providers.
Employment Solutions Training Officer – who
will deliver a programme of pre-employment training courses aimed
at helping homeless households into employment.
