Chris began this historic art of Town Crying in June of 1984 and has gone on to represent the City of Kingston with honour and pride on all occasions since that time. He has proclaimed for Heads of State, Royalty and many distinguished visitors as well as citizens and tourists alike. He has performed on several hundred occasions for almost every charitable or fund-raising event organized, in an effort to help them achieve the greatest community awareness of their efforts and to add an air of official stature/pomp and ceremony.
His promotional duties have seen him visit Australia, Belgium, England, Ireland, across Canada and the US crying the praises of Kingston The Limestone Gem. His attendance at competitions has brought forth numerous and repeat titles from Provincial Champion, North American Champion to International Champion bringing the name of Kingston into the spotlight. In 2004 Chris won the The Lord Mayor of Chester's World Town Crier Tournament in beautiful Chester, England.
His photo in full regalia dons many of Kingston tourist brochures, videos and magazines. His Crying career has lead him to become full time Manager of Visitor Services for Tourism Kingston, where he can combine his crying talents and promotional abilities, to the service of Citizens and visitors alike.
Chris is a single father of two fantastic boys, Curtis and Patrick, who have on occasion when they were younger dressed as junior Town Criers, helping their father at competitions and local events! He continues to promote with pride this great community and the people within it and the many organizations and volunteers without which this City would not function. His only regret, he can't retire, there's no pension!
