Jim Pearman

When he took on the post of Town Crier in Kidderminster in 2006, Jim discovered that, apart from civic processions, the two previous holders of the post did not do anything.

To rectify this situation, Jim has been doing his best to take part in competitions, charity events, talking to groups, and other activities designed to raise the profile of the Town Crier.

This year, they held their first competition in Kidderminster. This was successful and the Charter Trustees (Town Council) have agreed to hold another competition next year.

In competitions, Jim has won Best Crier in Montgomery and his escort, Sophie, has won best dressed escort in Montgomery and at the National Competition in Hastings.

His efforts in Kidderminster are now beginning to bear fruit and he is getting requests to appear at social and commercial events.
