The members of the Renaissance board span a broad mix of sectors across the city including representatives from Education, Property Agents, Housing Association, Chester Zoo, Cheshire West and Chester Council, Legal Profession, Local Business owner, Chester Business Club and the Planning profession.
The board meets quarterly on a formal basis to discuss the progress of the One City Plan, receive updates from the Chief Executive of Renaissance, the board Chairman and senior representatives from Cheshire West and Chester Council. The board also receives presentations from other organisations such as the University, Local Enterprise Partnerships etc regarding key projects that have an impact in Chester. This enables the board to consider how the work of the One City Plan fits into the wider area in and around the Sub Region to ensure that they maximise opportunities for economic growth.
As well as the board meetings, the board members take an active role in the work of the project groups. Each board member is assigned to a particular project and works with the project team and, if applicable, developers or external bodies to ensure the projects remain on target in accordance with the One City Plan timeline. The board members will then feedback to fellow board members from an independent point of view on key areas of the projects.
