Harthill Arts Trust – 3D Sculpture Bird Boxes
The Harthill Arts Trust, one of Habitats and Hillforts main training providers has been working with Bishop Heber Secondary School, Malpas and Helsby High to create a series of fantastic bird boxes through a 3D sculpture training course.
The students worked with local sculptor, Stephen Broadbent over a number of weeks as part of their coursework to create contemporary living boxes for birds. In September 2010, students, parents and teachers were invited to Mickaloo Art Gallery, Burwardsley to officially launch and celebrate these impressive sculptures. Mrs Diana Barbour, High Sheriff of Chester kindly opened the evening.
It is hoped the boxes will be sited along the Sandstone Trail in the future as a semi permanent sculpture trail.
