Helen, Matthew and Russ have collaborated on a number of successful productions including Theatre in the Quarter’s sell out shows Silent Night (2008) and Home for Christmas (2009). One aim of the company is to help fill the vacuum left in Chester by the closure of the Gateway Theatre while involving hundreds of school children, young people and adults in quality theatre experiences.

“It’s been a brilliant experience to work with Habitats and Hillforts and Cheshire Rural Touring Arts on this production – their involvement has given us new inspiration and has opened doors for us in working with new community groups and schools”, Matthew explained. “We’re working with 14 primary schools on this show, and that’s over 200 children who will be involved in the performances with the professional actors. I’m already running singing workshops in the schools and we’re all having a fantastic time!”

Helen the writer on siteForgotten Fortress is being performed by a cast of four: Emma Higginbottom, Harriet Barrow, Stavros Demetraki, and Thomas Latham. Regular Theatre in the Quarter audience members will know Thomas from Silent Night (2008), Home for Christmas (2009) and James (2010), and Emma from Home for Christmas (2009). “I really love working with Theatre in the Quarter” said Tom. “Not many companies are producing new plays regularly now, and it’s even rarer to find quality music theatre. I’m really looking forward to working on this one – sneak previews of the script and music have been fantastic!”
