Core Strategy Issues and Options
The Cheshire West and Chester Local Development Framework
(LDF) is a
series of documents which will form the basis for planning
decisions in our area - so it will affect everyone!
The Core Strategy is the main
LDF
document and sets out the
council’s vision and objectives for the borough until 2026. It
needs to meet the challenges facing West Cheshire and choices need
to be made on key decisions such as where development should go
and what should be protected.
Not all these decisions can or will be made now. We have
recently completed a major consultation asking for your views on
the suggested issues faced by West Cheshire and options for dealing
with them. These issues and options were identified from
knowledge of the borough’s social, economic and environmental
characteristics and recent evidence from surveys and studies.
Four possible options were put forward for the general location
of future development, together with a series of issues and
options which asked questions on various themes.
The consultation period has now ended. However
the Core Strategy Issues and Options report and Topic Papers can
still be read on our Core
Strategy Consultation Portal (comments made will be
available to view online once they have been processed by a
planning officer). You can also download a copy of the Issues and
Options Report (PDF 1.72 Mb).
The preparation of the Core Strategy is an ongoing process. So
