Joint consultation on priorities for three key documents which
will shape the future of West Cheshire
Cheshire West and Chester Council, working with West
Cheshire Together, the Local Strategic Partnership for West
Cheshire, have recently completed a major consultation
exercise on three key documents. All three documents look at what
sort of place we would all like West Cheshire to be in the future
and what action we need to be taking to achieve this.
The Local Development Framework (LDF) Core Strategy, the
vision which will form the basis for planning policy in West
Cheshire.
The council has begun work to prepare the
LDF
which will form the basis
for planning decisions in our area – so it will affect everyone in
West Cheshire!
The Core Strategy is the main LDF document and sets out
our spatial vision and objectives until 2026. The Core Strategy
needs to meet the challenges facing West Cheshire.

Core Strategy
webpage.
The Sustainable Community Strategy (SCS), which sets out the
social, economic and environmental issues and priorities for
everyone in West Cheshire.
The
SCS
represents a collective vision of the social, economic and
environmental priorities for the borough for the next 10
years. It is derived from discussions across the public,
private, voluntary and community sector interests about what this
vision should look like and what would be the best means of
achieving it. The
SCS
should focus on those
issues which can be best addressed through partnership working.
Through the process of producing the strategy, it is intended that
the support and commitment of all our partners can be achieved.

Community Strategy webpage.
The Local Transport Plan, which focuses on the transport
priorities for West Cheshire.
