Your Council Tax bill explained
Billing information
This section shows the main details of your Council Tax account:

1) The tax year the bill covers
2) The name of the person (s) liable for the bill
3) The address the bill has been issued to (this may be the address
of the property the bill relates to or a contact address)
4) The band of the property. For more information see Council Tax bands
5) The account reference number you should quote when contacting
the Council Tax department
6) The date the bill was issued
7) The address of the property the bill relates to if different
from 3)
8) The barcode can be used to make payments at Post Offices and
PayPoint outlets.
How your bill is calculated
This section shows how your Council Tax charge is split between Cheshire West and Chester Council, Cheshire Police Authority, Cheshire Fire Authority and parish councils and the percentage increase or decrease for the year.
Bills for 2012 and 2013 will also show a Cheshire West and Chester Special Expense Charge. For more information on Special Expenses, please refer to pages six and seven of the Council Tax and Business Rates Guide 2012/2013 (PDF, 1307kb).

How to pay

This section gives details of the due dates for the instalments on your Council Tax bill, current method of payment and outstanding balance for any other financial years.Your overall account balance is the total amount owing for all financial years.
