Our Aim

The aim of Children and Young People's Services is to support and protect those children and young people who need care and support, to enable them to develop their abilities to live as independent and fulfilled lives as possible.

Cheshire West and Chester Children and Young People's Services support:

  • Children and young people under 18 and their families.
  • Young people who are in our care or who have left our care.
  • Carers, that is, family and friends who look after other people's children through Private Fostering arrangements.

Independent Improvement Board

An Independent Improvement Board monitors all of the work being done to raise the standards achieved by the professional agencies involved in safeguarding children and young people.  The board monitors and challenges the way all partners are responding to the concerns noted by Ofsted about children’s safeguarding procedures in the borough.
