Independent Improvement Board
An Independent Improvement Board monitors all of the work being done to raise the standards achieved by the professional agencies involved in safeguarding children and young people.
The board monitors and challenges the way all partners are responding to the concerns noted by Ofsted about children’s safeguarding procedures in the borough.
Representatives from Cheshire West and Chester Council, the police, health, University of Chester, the Local Safeguarding Children Board Local, the Department for Education and the voluntary sector sit on the board, which is independently chaired by Stephen Wilds, former Director of Social Services.
