The Private Sector Housing Home Assistance Policy sets out the types of financial help available to owners to improve property condition, or to provide adaptations for people with disabilities. It includes information on eligibility criteria, procedures and conditions of assistance.

Loans and grants

The Housing Act 2004 places a duty on local authorities to consider housing conditions in their areas and to take action as appropriate.

Private rented sector and student housing study

The study examines the problems in the sector, its relationship to the social rented sector and its contribution to housing provision in the local housing market.

A separate study into Student Housing provides an understanding of the scale and spatial characteristics of the student housing market in Chester, the current issues and likely future trends.
