Graduate development programme

Do you want to be at the heart of an exciting, innovative and progressive local authority? Do you aspire to be a future leader in the public sector, helping to shape public services? Then Cheshire West and Chester Council is the organisation for you.

The programme

The Council’s Graduate Development Programme aspires to attract the best graduates to develop into public sector future leaders. Over two years, you will play an integral part in developing and delivering our service by supporting and managing key projects.

You will be set strategic, business and personal objectives at the start of each placement, and your success will be measured by your performance in delivering your goals at the end of your six month placement.

The successful candidates will undertake four placements, each lasting up to six months, across a mix of our services in order to gain a broad base of experience and expertise.

We are looking for innovative, driven and talented graduates to help drive our service, which focuses primarily on putting our customers and our communities at the heart of everything we do. We want ambitious graduates to progress into the top talent of the organisation and become the future leaders of the public sector.

The Council is very proactive in the provision of high quality work experience placements across the authority to support our young learners who require these as a part of their school or college studies.
