Volunteering in Cheshire West and Chester
Volunteering is a challenging and rewarding
experience. Knowing that you may have made a difference to the
lives of others is a fantastic feeling.
As well as making a difference to others, volunteering can bring lots of personal benefits to the volunteer including:
- building your confidence
- making friends and building local networks
- acquiring new skills and experiences
- providing a step to employment or training
Research has shown that volunteering improves a person’s physical and mental health.
Cheshire West and Chester Council, together with our voluntary sector partners Chester and Ellesmere Port Volunteering Centres, want to increase and improve opportunities for people to volunteer.
Our volunteer scheme provides details of volunteering opportunities at the Council and with other voluntary organisations.
You can contact us at volunteering@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk.
The Council has also introduced a staff volunteering policy which allows employees paid leave to volunteer in their local community or for a charity.
