Our aim is to:
Protect, investigate and help people to appreciate the archaeology of West Cheshire
What we do:
- Draw up policies for the preservation and investigation of archaeological remains
- Interpret sites and monuments
- Excavate and record sites and buildings
- Analyse archaeological finds
- Maintain the archive of archaeological discoveries in Chester
- Publish technical and popular books and leaflets about our discoveries
- Promote public understanding and enjoyment of archaeology through lectures, displays, children's activities and opportunities for volunteer work and work experience placements
- Joint projects in partnership with other sections of Cheshire West and Chester Council
