Bank holiday arrangements

All libraries will be closed on Monday 2 May 2016.

Police and Crime Commissioner election

Hoole Library will be closed on Thursday 5 May 2016 as it’s a polling station for the Police and Crime Commissioner election.

No loans will be due back on either date but customers can still renew online (by logging into their library account) or by telephoning 0845 148 0148.

Library news: self-service installation

Great Boughton, Barnton, Lache, Helsby and Hope Farm libraries will all be closing temporarily in order to install self-service technology. We will need to close for this short period of time in order to relocate stock, shelves and computers and install the new machines.

  • Great Boughton Library will close at 1pm on Saturday 23 April and will re-open at 9.30am on Tuesday 3 May
  • Barnton Library will close at 1pm on Saturday 7 May and will re-open at 2pm on Monday 16 May
  • Lache Library will close at 1pm on Saturday 14 May and will re-open at 9.30am on Monday 23 May
  • Helsby Library will close at 1pm on Saturday 21 May and will re-open at 9.30am on Tuesday 31 May
  • Hope Farm Library will close at 1pm on Saturday 4 June and will re-open at 2pm on Monday 13 June

Customers may wish to visit other local libraries in the interim. Loans will not be due back during the closed period and items can be renewed, 24/7, either online or by calling 0845 148 0148.
