Where to find help

Borrowing

You may borrow 20 items at any one time. This could include:

CDs, DVDs and console games are loaned for one week. Everything else is loaned for three weeks.

Items on loan can be renewed if not reserved by another borrower. Items can be renewed online or by telephone, email, letter, fax, or visiting a library. You can also renew your library loans using the 24 hour telephone renewal line on 0845 148 0148.

Multimedia loan charges

All charges apply from 1 April 2015.

People who have difficulty reading print or handling books are not charged for the loan or reservation of talking books, language courses or large print.

Children's books borrowed on an adult ticket are subject to the adult fine rate.

People who have difficulty reading print or handling books can reserve talking books and language courses free.

Lost tickets

For computerised libraries, including mobile libraries: adults £1.60 (80p children and CLCH*).

CLCH* denotes Cheshire Leisure Card holder concession charges.

Lost and damaged items

Charges for items that are lost are calculated using the scale of charges set out below.

Six years and over in stock 25% of purchase price

The minimum charge for any lost or damaged item is £2.50. An admin charge of £2.50 will be deducted from any refund, if a lost item is found.

Many of our libraries have meeting rooms which can be hired by community groups and businesses.
