Local Plan (Part One) Examination
Kevin Ward BA (Hons) MRTPI has been appointed as inspector to conduct the independent examination to determine whether the Cheshire West and Chester Local Plan (Part One) Strategic Policies is sound.
The hearings for the examination were held between Tuesday 17 June 2014 and Friday 4 July 2014.
The Inspector has now written to the Council to state that he is satisfied that the Council has complied with the duty to co-operate in the preparation of the Local Plan. The Inspector has concluded that the submitted plan is not sound in a number of respects, but considers that it can be made sound through main modifications. The Inspector will now liaise with the Council via the Programme Officer in order to produce a series of main modifications which will be subject to sustainability appraisal and full public consultation.
All information relating to the examination process can be found on the examination webpage on our consultation portal.
Local Plan (Part Two) Land Allocations and Detailed Policies - Issues consultation and additional call for sites
The Local Plan (Part Two) will set out further allocations and detailed policies, following on from the strategic framework set out in the Local Plan (Part One).
Between 1 May and 19 June 2014, we asked for your views on what policies should or should not be included in the Local Plan (Part Two), including the potential to use Supplementary Planning Documents (SPD). There was also a further opportunity to submit any sites not already suggested during previous consultations.
Local Plan (Part One) Submission
The Local Plan and all supporting documents were submitted to the Secretary of State on Monday 23 December 2013. This followed the formal approval of the submission documents by a Special Meeting of the Council on 19 December 2013.
