Kevin Ward BA (Hons) MRTPI has been appointed as inspector to conduct the independent examination to determine whether the Cheshire West and Chester Local Plan (part one) Strategic Policies is sound.

All information relating to the examination process, including details of hearing sessions, will be advertised on the examination webpage on our consultation portal.


The Local Plan and all supporting documents were submitted to the Secretary of State on Monday 23 December 2013. This followed the formal approval of the submission documents by a Special Meeting of the Council on 19 December 2013. 

A copy of all submitted documents can be viewed on our consultation portal. Hard copies are available to view in all customer service centres and libraries in Cheshire West and Chester.

The Local Plan sets out the vision and strategic policies including the overall level and location of development in the borough for the period 2010 to 2030.

Publication Draft Local Plan consultation

The Council published its Draft Local Plan for an eight week consultation period which ended at 5pm on Friday, 1 November 2013. All representations received during the consultation period can be seen on the consultation portal.
