Minibus Driver Assessment Scheme
All drivers who wish to drive a
minibus on behalf of the Council must attend the Cheshire
Minibus Driver Assessment Scheme (CMDAS), although other minibus
driver assessment schemes may also be acceptable.
Briefings which cover health, safety and licensing requirements for
the operation of minibus are held at school venues around
the authority and normally start at 4pm. There are also two
evening briefings which are aimed specifically at youth leaders and
other volunteers.
The briefing lasts for approximately one and a half hours and the
practical driving assessment for one and a half hours. All
practical driving assessments must be completed within 12 months of
attending a briefing session.
