Consultation Update

A report outlining the outcome of the consultation was considered by the Cheshire West and Chester Executive on 8 February 2012.

At that Meeting Members approved the decision to publish the statutory Public Notice for the closure of the high school and the creation of a voluntary aided school.  Within six weeks from the date of publication of this Notice, any person may object to or make comments on the proposal by sending them to the Head of Legal Services, Cheshire West and Chester Council, HQ, 58 Nicholas Street, Chester CH1 2NP.

Please note that as a result of Schedule 11 paragraphs 3 to 11 of the Education Act 2011 coming into force on 1 February 2012, the legal provision under which a proposal to establish a new voluntary aided school is published has changed from Section 10(2) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 to Section 11(1a) of that Act. The DfE School Organisation website has not as yet been updated to reflect this change. The notice above complies with the requirements of Section 11(1a).

Copies of the Appendices that accompany the 'Proposal to establish a new school' and the 'Proposal to discontinue a school' documents can be obtained by emailing schoolplanningandpolicy@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk or telephoning them on 01244 975945.
