Recycle at work
There are many things you can do to help your work place become
more waste aware. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
Recycle your office waste - Set up a recycling
scheme for your office waste. There are companies who will collect
recycling from businesses for a small charge. These companies can
be found in the yellow pages. Make sure recycling bins
are close to people's desks - so it's easier to recycle it than bin
it.
Buy smart - When buying printers, photocopiers
and fax machines, choose ones with options for two-sided
printing.
Buy recycled - There are lots of office
supplies that contain recycled material that can be bought online
or through office suppliers. For example, printer paper, envelopes,
pens and pencils. Look out for items that say they include recycled
materials.
Stretching the envelope - Reuse envelopes for
internal circulation and, if possible, with a sticker for external
mail.
Recycle your ink cartridges and printer toners
- There are many charities that collect ink cartridges and printer
toners to raise money. Search on the internet to find a suitable
charity to support. They will normally supply a collection box and
arrange collections for you.
