A fresh approach
Cheshire West and Chester Council will bring a fresh and
energetic approach to providing top quality services for its many
customers and communities.
With the introduction of the new authority on 1 April, residents
will be able to access all Council services through one
approachable and responsive organisation. The
vision - Customer first, Value for Money, Best
Practice - highlights the Council’s ambition to place
its stakeholders at the heart of everything it does.
With a population of 327,500, the area covered by the new
borough will include the major towns of Ellesmere Port, Neston,
Winsford, Northwich and Frodsham and the historic city of
Chester.
The new Council will be the fourth largest unitary authority in
the North West, giving it a powerful strategic voice in the UK and
enabling it to drive forward initiatives to support developments in
the area.
The Council aims to get close to its communities to ensure their
hopes and ambitions for their neighbourhoods help shape the
Council’s service planning and delivery. The Council
has 72 elected members, representing 24 wards, who will engage with
residents, businesses and partners to create real and valuable
channels of communication.
Cheshire West and Chester is an exceptional place with diverse
scenery and communities. From industrial towns to rural
villages and from leading-edge new technology businesses to a
strong agricultural heritage, there is a wealth of reasons as to
why people want to live in, work in and visit the borough.
