Proposed Changes to the Purposes of the Charity
The Council and the Executive Committee have agreed that the purposes of the Charity need to be amended. The Charity Deed dates back to 1930 and some of the conditions are being ignored or are obsolete.
Following advice from the Charity Commission a Public Consultation is taking in respect of our proposed changes to update and modernise the Charity Deed to reflect current circumstances.
The first period of the consultation has closed. A second phase may be required - most likely in early 2012.
Public meeting
As part of the current public consultation exercise, the Council, as sole Trustee arranged for a Public Meeting to take place on 16 September 2011 for residents of Willaston to give their views. Full documentation is available below.
