Overview and Scrutiny Committee
Consultation on Highways Maintenance Report
Maintaining our most indispensable asset effectively
As a result of a recent review of roads in the Cheshire
West and Chester area, an interim
report is now available (PDF 1.22mb)
This report focuses on the issues of most relevance to Cheshire
West and Chester Executive’s budget setting discussions. Our task
group is made up of six councillors. The Highways Maintenance
Scrutiny Review is the first review of the newly formed Community
Select Panel after the creation of Cheshire West and Chester on 1
April 2009. The Community Select Panel approved the review scope at
its meeting on 15 June 2009. The aim of the review was to enable
Members of the new authority to gain a greater understanding and
awareness of the current highway asset; understand the usage; gauge
customer perception; understand of the relationship with BAM
Nuttalls, the term contractor, and identify any issues with Utility
Companies. The overall main purpose of the review was to identify
areas for improvement for the Highways Service.
