COVID-19 (coronavirus) information

Barnton, Blacon, Chester Library at Storyhouse, Ellesmere Port, Frodsham, Great Boughton, Helsby, Hope Farm, Lache, Little Sutton, Neston, Northwich, Sandiway, Upton, Weaverham and Winsford libraries have reopened.

All libraries apart from Chester Library at Storyhouse are operating on temporary revised opening hours.

Order and collect at Winsford Library

An order and collect service is available at Wharton Library, from the library foyer. This is open to return or collect pre-ordered items:

  • Mondays, 10am until 1pm
  • Thursdays, 2pm until 5pm

Order and collection service

Essential IT access is also available by pre-booking via Winsford Library. Children 16 and under need to be accompanied by an adult. To book time on a computer please call 01606 275065.

Mobile library

The temporary mobile library service has resumed at Malpas, Tarvin, Tattenhall and Tarporley, for returning and borrowing items (one household at a time can board the mobile). The weekly mobile schedule is:

  • Monday 10am until 12noon - Tarporley Community Centre Car Park
  • Tuesday 4pm until 6pm - Bishop Heber High School Car Park, Malpas
  • Wednesday 2pm until 4pm - Barbour Institute Car Park, Tattenhall
  • Thursday 2pm until 4pm - Tarvin Community Centre Car Park
  • The Education Library Service continues to supply to schools and educational settings.

Loans

Reservations have now resumed and normal loan periods and overdue charges will resume from Monday 7 December. Our libraries will also be fine-free for under 13s from 7 December. Children aged 0-12 years will no longer be charged for any overdue items and any pre-existing late charges will be removed from their accounts. You can check items on loan by logging in to your account.

You can renew your loans using the Cheshire Libraries Catalogue or phone 0300 123 7739 for 24 hour renewals.

We have a wide range of eBooks, audio downloads, eMagazines, eNewspapers and eResources free of charge for all ages and tastes. For any enquiries please email libraries@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk.
