If you or anyone you know is in immediate danger, telephone the police on 999.

You can also contact the Council Domestic Abuse Family Safety Unit on 01606 351 375 (during office hours) or 0808 2000 247 (24 hour domestic violence helpline).

  • Legal Aid Calculator

Check if you can get legal aid to help pay for legal advice and representation. You will need recent payslips if you’re working, bank statements, details of any savings and investments you have, details of any benefits you get and mortgage statements plus current valuation of any properties you own.


  • National Association of Child Contact Centres

Contact centres are useful when parents are no longer able to communicate. They can provide a neutral place for children to meet the parent who no longer lives at home with them. Search for locations and contact details for local centres in Chester, Ellesmere Port, Winsford and further afield

24 hour helpline providing fast service to obtain emergency injunction within 7-10 days of incident where violence has been used or threatened if eligible for legal aid.

Free support provided by volunteers in civil and family courts for people without legal representation. Explains how court works, help fill in forms and organist court papers, help you plan what to say, go into hearing with you to take notes etc.
