Real-time sulphur dioxide graphs

We monitor sulphur dioxide (SO2) around the clock in Ellesmere Port, Thornton-le-Moors and Elton.  The monitoring station at Frodsham provides data on urban background pollution.  SO2  is also monitored across the rooftops of Ellesmere Port using an Opsis system. The Thornton-le-Moors and Elton sites are designed to monitor air quality downwind of industrial sources. These sophisticated techniques record data every 15 minutes, 365 days per year.

Please note: we are currently unable to display all the data from the monitoring stations because of a communications fault, however, all analysers continue to operate as normal.

The graphs below show 15-minute average SO2 levels over the last seven days.
