Park and Ride
Cheshire West and Chester Council operates four Park and Ride sites around the City at Boughton Heath (off the A41 Whitchurch Road - nearest postcode CH3 5QD), Sealand Road (on the A548 opposite the car dealerships - nearest postcode CH1 4LD), Upton (Zoo - nearest postcode CH2 4BA) and Wrexham Road (off the A483 opposite Chester Business Park - nearest postcode CH4 9DQ). Please note, postcodes are the nearest approximate postcodes for location purposes, as these sites are not postal addresses.
These are served by two limited stop cross-city services:
From 27 July to 31 August 2017, every Thursday evening, you can take advantage of fantastic shopping, drinking and dining in Chester city centre – a large number of businesses will be open longer and some have special promotions on offer. As part of the ‘Head Out Not Home’ campaign we have extended our Park and Ride service until 8pm, every Thursday, throughout the summer period.
New buses were introduced in 2016 which feature comfortable leather seats, free 4g wi-fi, an Air Chill system to keep you cool in the summer and all are wheelchair friendly. Buses are operated on our behalf by Stagecoach.
An over height area is available at each site for motor homes and oversized vehicles.
Buses operate at the following times
- Monday to Friday: every 12 minutes between 7am and 7pm
- Saturdays: every 12 minutes between 8am and 7pm
- Sundays and Bank Holidays: every 15 minutes between 9.30am and 6pm
Tickets and fares
Tickets are available from machines near the bus stop at each car park. Please enter your car registration number and follow the simple steps on the touch screen machines. You will need to scan your ticket as you board the bus in both directions.
Parking is free for Park and Ride customers. Tickets cost £2.00 (return) per adult and up to two children can travel free if accompanied by an adult.
Saver tickets are available for frequent travellers – six return tickets can be purchased for the price of five (£10.00). We regret that Park and Ride is excluded from the Concessionary Fare scheme.
Parking only? No problem – you don’t have to use the bus. Parking only charges are £3 per car for up to six hours and £5 for over six hours (the charges are daily from 7am).
Please note that concessionary passes are not valid on Park and Ride services.
People with disabilities and lost property
We aim to offer a high standard to all our customers and welcome wheelchair users. If you have a question about mobility scooter access please contact Stagecoach, our bus provider via their website below. For all lost property enquiries please contact Stagecoach buses
