Lord Mayor of Chester's Coronation Concert

  • Date: 1.15pm - 2.45pm on Sunday 7 May
  • Location: Chester Town Hall Square
  • Details: Join the Lord Mayor of Chester to celebrate the King and Queen Consort’s coronation on Sunday 7 May. A concert of local performers, choirs and children will take place on Chester Town Hall square to allow local residents and visitors to come together and celebrate this historic event. The Lord Mayor will open the concert and welcome everyone and the afternoon will continue with performances from A Handbag Of Harmonies; University Of Chester Choir; Dee Sign Choir; Chester Male Voice Choir; Overleigh St Mary’s School; Proud Marys; Rock Choir; Amasing And FINALE - All Choirs Join In Lambeth Walk And National Anthem.

    Members of the public are invited to come and enjoy all of the concert or just drop by and watch some of it. Roads around the Town Hall will be closed to the public and the Parklet will provide some seating for people to use.

BBC Coronation Service Livestream

  • Details: Join us for a special livestream of the BBC’s coverage of The Coronation of Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort. The Cathedral opens at 11am, with the livestream commencing at 11.15am.

A Celebration of His Majesty King Charles III

  • Date: 11am on Sunday 7 May
  • Details: Join us for a service celebrating The Coronation of Their Majesty The King and The Queen Consort. We kindly ask that you are seated by 10.30am. After this time, seats will be released to walk-ins. Seating is un-allocated and we will operate on a first come first served basis.
    Please note that full bag checks will be in operation, therefore we ask that you only bring with you what you need, ideally small bags only.
    Parking is available for service attendees at Queen’s Park and Exton Park

Coronation Picnic Boxes

  • Date: 12 noon on Sunday 7 May
  • Details: Join us following the service celebrating The Coronation of Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort for a Coronation Picnic.
    Once booked, please bring your confirmation with you, and collect your box from the Cathedral Refectory, from 12pm onwards.
    All boxes will include a selection of mixed sandwiches, a cream scone and cake. Each box serves one person, and one tea / coffee will be available per box.
    This event is open to everyone, not just those attending the service. Reserving picnic boxes in advance is required.

Football Festival to Commemorate the Coronation

  • Date: 12.30pm until 5pm on Sunday 9 July
  • Location: Whitby Sports and Social Club, Dunkirk Lane, Whitby, Ellesmere Port, CH65 6QF
  • Details: It's an under 10s Football Tournament consisting of eight teams, two groups of four. There will be a Coronation Cup and Coronation Plate to play for. Entrance to venue is free. Food, drinks and ice creams will be on sale during the event

Coronation picnic at Rivacre Valley Primary school

  • Date: 2:30pm on Thursday 4 May
  • Location: Rivacre Valley Primary school, Rivacre Brow, Ellesmere Port CH66 1LE
  • Details: Family picnic, come and join the children for a Coronation picnic. Purchase meal tickets from school office for £4. Also, 'A throne fit for a king', come and see our exhibition of individually designed class thrones from 2:30pm in the school hall. As well as 'Create your own Coronation Crown', design and make a Coronation Crown at home. Bring it into school on 4 May to be judged in class.

An Evening with Tom Wood

  • Details: Presented by the Grosvenor Museum Society, join them for an evening with Tom Wood. Tickets cost £5 and can be paid on the door.
