Add your sparkle to the Lord Mayor’s Christmas wish tree!

The Lord Mayor has launched her 2025 Charity Christmas Wish Tree initiative and she needs your help to decorate it. Wishing Trees are a unique, simple and memorable ways to bestow your wishes.

Pop into Chester Town Hall Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, grab a Christmas heart, and write down your wish!

The Lord Mayor of Chester Cllr Akhtar had this to say:

Every heart adds a little extra magic to the tree and by making a small donations helps support my charities. 

Let’s fill every branch with love and kindness, your wish can make a difference. So together, let’s cover the tree in festive cheer. Please join in and spread the joy!

The Lord Mayor’s tree is situated in Chester Town Hall’s porch, so when you are out enjoying Chester Christmas Market’s or visiting Chester Cathedral’s Tree Festival, pop along and write your wish, offering or message and place it on her tree.

The Lord Mayor of Chester has also launched an exciting Advent Calendar Competition!

Each day during Advent, the Lord Mayor will reveal a new door, doorway, or archway from around Chester and invite residents to guess its location.

New entries will be posted daily from Monday 1 to Wednesday 24 December, culminating in a special festive message from the Lord Mayor on Christmas Day.

To enter, submit your answers by Thursday 1 January using the online form or collect a paper entry form from Chester Visitor Centre.

The winner, selected from those with all correct answers or the most correct will be invited to Chester Town Hall for high tea with the Lord Mayor.
