Council supports Challenge Poverty Week 2025
Cheshire West and Chester Council is proud to support Challenge Poverty Week 2025, running from 13 to 19 October, by amplifying the voices of those with lived experience and encouraging collective action to end poverty.
Throughout the week, the Council will share stories, hopes and dreams from partners and Community Inspirers, people with lived experience of poverty, across social media, highlighting the real challenges faced by residents and the inspiring work already underway to build a fairer future.
This year’s theme, Let’s End Poverty, calls on communities, businesses, and organisations to reflect on how they can contribute to a more just society, where everyone has the opportunity to thrive with dignity and respect.
The campaign follows the successful Tackling Poverty Together Summit held on 10 October, which brought together stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and drive forward the Council’s poverty strategy, A Fairer Future.
Poverty is a challenge we must face together. Behind every statistic is a person, a family, a story. During Challenge Poverty Week, we’re not just raising awareness, we’re listening, learning, and acting. Together, we can build a borough where everyone has the chance to live a life of dignity, hope and opportunity. The Council invites residents, businesses and community groups to join the conversation, share their ideas, and take action to help end poverty in all its forms.
