Families, school staff and partners across Cheshire West and Chester are being asked to help shape a new support service for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in mainstream schools.

The Council is developing this new approach as part of the High Needs Sustainability Programme and will replace the current outreach offer. It aims to ensure schools feel better equipped to support children with needs such as autism, communication difficulties, and social, emotional, or mental health challenges.

We want to make sure that schools feel confident and supported when meeting the needs of children with SEND. This new service is being shaped by the people who use it and those who deliver it – your feedback is vital to getting it right.
