Cheshire West and Chester Council has injected almost £78,000 into grassroots ideas as part of the latest Cheshire West Crowd funding round—helping local people bring bold, community‑powered projects to life.

The Cheshire West Crowd gives residents and groups a platform to rally support, attract funding and make the borough more vibrant, resilient and connected.

In this most recent round, the Council pledged £77,988 through the Community Innovation Fund and Climate Change Emergency Fund, backing a wide mix of inspiring local initiatives.

Projects receiving Council support include:

  • Party Hire kits to help reduce waste
  • Tree planting at The Grove
  • Northwich Pride
  • Cycling for Everyone
  • Stopping Food Poverty
  • Active Wellbeing Support for Children

Some projects have already smashed their crowdfunding targets, while others are still calling on the community to get behind them.

Councillor Louise Gittins, Leader of the Council and Ambassador for the Cheshire West Crowd, said:

What makes the Cheshire West Crowd so special is its flexibility and its ability to bring people from across our communities together.

We’re really proud of the difference it has already made. So far, 205 projects have received support from 11,354 backers, with more than £2.9 million pledged.

We’re pleased to offer Council funding again to help turn local ideas into reality. There are some fantastic initiatives making use of the Cheshire West Crowd in this latest round.

With pledges starting at just £2, every contribution counts. Alongside Council support, projects are receiving donations from residents, charitable organisations and local businesses.

The current fundraising window is closing soon, so visit the Cheshire West Crowd website to see what’s happening near you. If there’s a project you care about, I’d really encourage you to get involved and show your support.
