Residents across Cheshire West and Chester are being encouraged to get moving this May as part of the Council’s Joyful Movement campaign, with a focus on walking, wheeling and simple ways to be more active.

The campaign highlights how finding fun ways to move can make you feel great, recognising that movement looks different for everyone. It also showcases the wide range of opportunities available locally, from parks and green spaces to organised activities and community groups.

This year’s campaign aligns with National Walking Month and includes a focus on walking and wheeling as accessible ways to move. Whether it is a short walk close to home, part of a daily routine, using a wheelchair or mobility aid, or joining a local group, there are lots of ways to find joy in movement.

Throughout May, the campaign will share real stories from residents, community groups and partners across the borough, helping to inspire others to move more in a way that works for them.

Residents can find information about local opportunities and support through the Live Well Cheshire West website:

Starting quotation marks
Moving your body can make you feel great, and even better if it is fun and with friends. The Joyful Movement campaign takes away any pressure to exercise for health or weight and instead focuses on finding ways to move that bring you joy.

Whether that is walking, wheeling, dancing or something else entirely, it all counts, and there are lots of ways to get involved across our borough.
