Residents are invited to have their say on a new strategy to improve health and wellbeing for everyone in Cheshire West and Chester.
The Cheshire West and Chester Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2026-2031 has been drafted following feedback from the public during the summer. Now Cheshire West and Chester Council has launched an:
Eight-week public consultation, open until 30 November.
To check that residents agree with the strategy.
Cllr Louise Gittins, Leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council, said:
It’s about much more than hospitals, doctors and dentists – it’s about the places where we live, how children can get the best start in life, making sure people have access to good jobs, how we can prevent ill health and more. Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts about the strategy priorities in the summer. We’ve listened to your ideas, now we need you to tell us if you’ve got it right.

The strategy focuses on priorities for the Council, NHS partners, Cheshire West Voluntary Action and Healthwatch to work on together.
These include:
- giving every child the best start in life
- enabling everyone to maximise their capabilities and have control over their lives
- creating fair employment and good work for all
- ensuring a healthy standard of living for all
- creating and developing healthy and sustainable places and communities
- strengthening the role and impact of ill health prevention
- tackling racism, discrimination and their outcomes
- pursuing environmental sustainability.
