Support available for households affected by rising heating oil costs

Residents across Cheshire West and Chester who use heating oil are being encouraged to access financial support as part of the Council’s Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF).
The additional support follows a recent rise in global heating oil prices, which has increased pressure on household budgets.
The support is available to households using heating oil and is not limited to those receiving benefits.
A targeted approach has been used to identify households most likely to be affected, with around 459 residents contacted directly.
Residents who have not received a letter but are struggling are encouraged to apply by emailing: householdsupport@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk
You will need to provide the information below to receive a password and begin your application:
- Full name and address
- Postcode
- Evidence of a recent heating oil purchase (for example, an invoice or order confirmation)
Councillor Carol Gahan, Cabinet Member for Finance and Legal, said:
Rising heating oil costs are having a real impact on households, particularly in our rural communities. This additional funding means we can extend support through the Crisis and Resilience Fund to help residents manage these pressures. We have contacted some households directly, but we know others may need support too. If you are struggling with heating oil costs, please get in touch so we can help.
