Overview of services

Learning disability day services

Our learning disability day services provide a range of daytime activities in a number of day centres and community settings, including Canal Street Day Centre and Water Tower Gardens (both Chester), Firdale Day Centre (Northwich), Meadowbank Lodge (Winsford), Neston Day Centre, and Coronation Centre and Healthy Living Centre (both Ellesmere Port). Facilities available at the day centres include sensory rooms, art and craft rooms, IT and media suite, music and entertainment areas, outdoor gardening and environmental activities.

Little Roodee Café

Our Little Roodee café in Chester not only sells a range of delicious food and drink to the public, but it also provides vocational training and employment opportunities for adults aged 18 and over with a learning disability. This includes gaining new skills in food preparation, customer service, good hygiene practice and team working. People using the service have the option to take part in accredited and non-credited training, and they will be supported into employment in the catering industry if they choose to take that path.

Respite service

Our Respite service provides evening, weekend and overnight respite for adults with learning disabilities, including individuals with profound, intellectual and multiple disabilities (PIMD) and autism. The service is available on an emergency, short-stay or weekly basis and operates from Dorin Court and Dover Drive in Ellesmere Port.

Voluntary Community Day Services

Our Voluntary Community Day Services provides day time activities for older people run by a group of volunteers and meet in Willaston, Waverton, Farndon and Saughall.

Older people day services

Our older people day services provide a range of daytime activities in a number of day centres, including Davenham Day Centre (Northwich), Abbots Wood (Chester), and Coronation Centre (Ellesmere Port). The service provides the opportunity for people to socialise in a safe and supportive environment and offers a choice of therapeutic and engaging activities. Our day care services at the Coronation Centre and the Davenham Centre also offer dementia day care.

Dementia care

Our Dementia Care service at Curzon House in Chester provides short-stay, respite and long-stay residential care and day care for people with dementia. We work closely with other organisations in the area, including Cheshire West and Chester Council, Public Health, Brightlife and the Alzheimer’s Society, to provide a wide range of dementia support.

Supported living

Our Supported Living service provides personalised support for adults with learning disabilities and autism in their own home under supported tenancy agreements. We have a number of properties in Ellesmere Port, Northwich and Winsford, providing a permanent home for individuals with care and support 24-hours-a-day.

Shared Lives

Our Shared Lives service provides sessional support, respite and permanent placements to older people or people with learning disabilities or autism aged 18 and over who need support, or support and accommodation, to live full and social inclusive lives. Shared Lives offers an alternative to day services, respite care and residential care, is delivered by self-employed carers and is available Borough-wide.
