Castle Park

Castle Park has been awarded Green Flag status, a prestigious award which is the national benchmark for parks and open spaces. This indicates that the park has fulfilled the judging criteria and is a safe, welcoming and well maintained park offering a range of recreational and leisure opportunities for people of all ages.

Castle Park is a public park situated in Frodsham, consisting of both a Manor House and 9 hectares of gardens; Castle Park House was built in the late 18th Century, after Frodsham Castle burnt down in 1654, since then the building was placed on the English Heritage Register of Historic Park and Gardens in 2002 and has a green flag status.

The elegant Castle Park House is an Edwardian manor house which was fully restored in 2006. The house offers purpose built conference facilities and a beautifully restored master room.

In 2010 the grounds were refurbished and the park revitalised for use by the wider community. The conservatory was restored to its former splendour using historic images.

The Conservatory now displays the History of Castle Park in panels of text and illustrations which was approved by Sheila Holroyd and Kath Gee, on behalf of the History Society at the time of restoration.

Castle Park leads to the Sandstone Trail and is just off the high street offering a one stop shop to keep you occupied all day. It has Tennis Courts, a running track and amongst other things to keep you occupied.

At the start of 2015 heritage blue plaques were placed on Castle Park House, Castle Park Arts Centre and Park Court.

Castle Park House and Gardens in Frodsham is an attractive historic park which, over nine hectares, offers a mixture of formal gardens and lawns and recreational leisure facilities such as a bowling green and tennis courts.

Castle Park has the resources and capacity to offer a wide range of events, from the beautiful picturesque gardens to the large conservatory. Castle Park is a registered wedding venue, so why not look into how you can make this prestigious and beautiful manor yours for the day?
