Library events
Libraries Week (2 - 8 October) is an annual celebration where we showcase all the innovative and, sometimes, surprising ways in which we support our communities.
This year Libraries Week is 'going green', focussing on sustainability and climate change, so click on your local library to see what's happening there.

Thursday 5 October, Frodsham Library's birthday celebrations
Not only is it Libraries Week, but we're celebrating 70 years of libraries in Frodsham. On Thursday 5 October, we're hosting lots of birthday activities and there's something for everyone:
Coffee morning in our Poetry Cafe, 10.30am - 12pm
Join us for a cuppa and some birthday cupcakes, whilst listening to poet John Lindley reciting poetry all about libraries and books. As it's National Poetry Day, John will also be writing poetry for anyone that would like their own special poem created.
There will also be photos and memorabilia about the libraries that have existed over the years, in Frodsham. Come and reminisce over a brew and a biscuit. Share your thoughts and memories about libraries in Frodsham.
No need to book, just drop in. All welcome.
Birthday rhymetime, 2pm - 2.30pm (under 5s)
Join us for an extra special rhymetime, as part of our birthday celebrations. There will be juice, biscuits and birthday bubbles - what's not to like? No need to book, just drop in.
The Darkest Evening - a murder mystery, 7pm (doors open 6.30pm)
Who stabbed Harriet Stanhope? Gather your team and join us for an evening of sleuthing and secrets.
Written by bestselling Vera author Ann Cleeves, we invite you to a murder mystery evening where you will need all of your little grey cells to solve the crime.
Brockburn House is a sprawling country house deep in the Northumberland countryside, where the family and local residents have gathered together for a party. The evening takes a shocking turn when Harriet Stanhope, lady of the manor, is found stabbed outside the kitchen door, and only one of the residents of the house could have done the deed.
Listen to the suspects' statements, gather clues and then point the finger. Good luck!
Tickets are £5 per person. Book at Frodsham Library or via Ticketsource: Frodsham Library, Darkest Evening Murder Mystery, 7pm
This event is part of Libraries Week and Frodsham Library's 70th Birthday Celebrations. Doors open at 6.30pm. Bar and refreshments will be available.
