Volunteering in Cheshire West and Chester Libraries

  • would you like to get involved with your local library service?
  • do you have time to spare and would like to give something back to your local community?
  • do you have skills to share, or would you like to meet new people?
  • would you like to gain some experience in a busy and varied environment?

All current volunteer opportunities are listed below and can be applied for via the online form.

After receiving your completed application, we will arrange a time to meet you for an informal interview and discuss the role further.

Please note: We can only accept applications for most volunteering roles from those aged 16 and above, with the exception of Duke of Edinburgh or work experience placements.

If you are under 18 you will need permission from a parent, guardian or appropriate adult to apply.

Duke of Edinburgh's Award

We welcome applications for Duke of Edinburgh's Award volunteering in libraries from young people aged 14+.

You will support library teams with everyday tasks, events and activities and develop your skills.

We make every effort to accommodate applicants, but libraries are a very popular choice and often receive more applications than we have space for.

If you are under 18 you will need permission from your parent, guardian or responsible adult to apply.
