Making a request to speak at planning committee

In order to speak, you must have submitted your representations/comments on the relevant planning application in writing, to the Development Management Service at least 14 days before the Committee meeting you want to speak at.

You must also register to speak at the meeting. The deadline for registering to speak at any Committee meeting is 4pm two full working days before the Committee meeting you want to speak at.

Committee meetings are normally held on Tuesdays or Thursdays. For example, the deadline for submitting a request form is 4pm on the Thursday before a Tuesday meeting, or 4pm on the Monday before a Thursday meeting.

If you try to register after this deadline, or if you don’t register to speak, you will not be allowed to speak at a Committee meeting.

Please do not send requests by email to Councillors or Planning Case Officers.

Once you have submitted a request to speak we will contact you to advise of the arrangements.

Committee papers are published five days prior to a Committee date. It is not possible for you to register your intentions before the Committee papers are published, nor with any officer other than the nominated officers. Committee papers can be obtained from the Planning minutes and agendas page on this website by selecting the relevant Committee.
