See or comment on planning applications

How to comment on an application

To comment on a planning application you will need to register, which will update our system automatically, publish your comments online, and make them available to the planning officer.

In the interests of transparency the following will be published online:

  • your address; and
  • your comment, in full and unmoderated

If you send us a comment on a planning application we will also collect your name, postal address and contact details (i.e. email address or phone number, if provided).

Please note that we do not respond to comments or to questions raised in them.

Confidential comments

If you are submitting types of information, comments or allegations which you think should be treated confidentially, please send them using one of the following methods:

You must make it clear that you would like the comment to be treated confidentially (e.g. by writing confidential in the email subject line or at the top of the letter) and include the reference number of the application you are commenting on. 

Please note: your comment will still be made available online, however, your address will not be included with your comment
